Then I met a gentleman. He helped me. He made a video of me and made it viral. It was only because of him that I was able to come home. First I narrowly escaped drowning in the Ganga. Then I lost my way, but my Bholenath did not let anything happen to me. Now I will not go anywhere alone.”
When her hand slipped from the chain she got swept away in the river
When Ratibhai reached home, she became happy seeing the family.
100-year-old Ratibai lived in Sarai Mohalla of Kotwali police station area. She says, “I was angry with my family members. That is why I wanted to go to Haridwar alone. On Thursday, I put two sarees in a bag and took 250 rupees. I left saying that I was going to the temple and boarded a train and reached Haridwar. On the first day, I took a dip in the Ganga river and visited the temple.
The next day when I went to take a bath in the river, I lost hold of the chain and was swept away. Then the divers saved me. My bag and all my belongings were swept away. I was very scared. I reached the station to come home. I asked for a train going to Delhi and on the advice of people, I boarded a train. Later, I came to know that the train does not go to Delhi. By then, I had reached Rajasthan. I did not have money to eat. I did not eat anything of anyone.”

I made a video there. After that, I was booked a ticket in Karnataka Express. I was made to sit in AC-2 coach and I told the TTE. When the train reached Jhansi at 2 am on Monday, my son and other family members met me at the station. I started crying after seeing them. Earlier, it seemed that I would not be able to return home. But my Bholenath brought me home. Now I will not go alone.
