In order to prevent and save people from untoward incidents during floods in Sant Kabir Nagar, the National and State Disaster Response Force conducted a rehearsal on Thursday at a degree college away from the ghat of Rapti river. During this, the team dramatically rescued people from the river by boat during the floods.

During the mega mock drill, information is received by NDRF, SDRF, Disaster Authority and SDM Mehdawal and other departments. Due to heavy rains in the upper region of Nepal, Rapti river and mountain streams have overflowed.

The team equipped with state-of-the-art equipment left

Due to this, there is chaos as the means of transport going to Menhdawal-Badhaya have been stopped. On this, a team equipped with ultra-modern equipment left for the site of incident under the guidance of NDRF and under the leadership of Inspector and under the supervision of Sub-District Magistrate. The police administration made a green corridor so that the team and ambulance service could reach the site of incident quickly. NDRF and SDRF started the operation immediately after reaching the site of incident. Hungry and thirsty children and women were safely evacuated from the flood-inundated village.

The team reached the drowning people with a motor boat

There is also information about a boat sinking. During the rescue operation, some people fall into the Rapti river from a boat filled with more passengers than its capacity. As soon as the information is received, the rescue workers reach the drowning people with their motor boat and rescue them.

They also demonstrated how one can keep oneself safe during floods by making artificial rafts from homemade resources. During the exercise, NDRF set up an operation room for first aid. During this, Sub-District Magistrate Utkarsh Shrivastava, Tehsildar Anand Ojha, JE Irrigation Department Virendra Yadav were also present.

The purpose of the mock drill is to create awareness

Sub-district magistrate Utkarsh Srivastava said that in this mock drill, the preparations were tested. If people get stuck in an emergency, then how can they be saved by carrying out relief and rescue operations. People living on the river bank can be taken to a safe place and provided relief.
