The court has sentenced the accused who shot and killed a youth in Jhansi 7 years ago to life imprisonment. He has been fined Rs. 60,000. 50 percent of this amount will be given to the victim’s family. If the fine is not paid, the accused will be sentenced to 3 months imprisonment.

The case was filed on the complaint of the father

District Assistant Government Advocate Atulesh Saxena said that Gyan Singh Yadav, a resident of Budhavali village, had given a complaint in Montha police station on 10 October 2017. In which he had told that on the night of 9 October 2017 at around 9:15 pm he was going home with his son Rahul Yadav (22). Jitendra alias Lala and his brother Ajay alias Gulli of the village were sitting with guns in ambush on the way.

Both of them together fired at Rahul and his father. Rahul fell down after being shot, while his father hid. When people came, the accused fled waving their pistols. Gyan Singh and his brother Narendra took the injured Rahul to Montha CHC. From there, they took him to Jhansi Medical College. Where the doctors declared Rahul dead. This murder happened in a battle for supremacy.

After a long hearing, the court on Friday held Jitendra alias Lala guilty and sentenced him to life imprisonment under section 302 of the IPC. Apart from this, he was sentenced to seven years under section 307 and three years under section 323 of the Arms Act. However, all the sentences will run simultaneously. At the same time, Ajay was acquitted giving him the benefit of doubt.
