UPSRTC’s new decision will be applicable on 12 thousand 400 roadways buses. This will affect 16 lakh passengers who travel daily. Actually, a passenger can carry up to 20 kg of luggage with him free of cost in a roadways bus, but no more than 5 quintals of luggage can be carried in the entire bus.

Instructions issued for commercial goods

UPSRTC’s Additional Managing Director Ram Singh Verma says that guidelines have been issued regarding booking of commercial goods in the bus. Under this, it has been made mandatory to have the owner of the goods if goods weighing less than five quintals are booked. Not only this, goods will not be kept inside the bus in such a way that passengers have to face inconvenience. ATI has been given the responsibility to monitor this.

77 Thousand Kilos of items seized

In the last month, the checking teams have caught 77 thousand 425 kg of luggage without booking in the roadways buses. Due to this, the passengers had to face problems during the bus journey. Due to this, the roadways administration has banned the booking of luggage more than five quintals this time.
