Realising the fraud, he contacted the police and the police froze his bank account and got about three lakh rupees back and also started a new scheme to return the remaining money.

On May 28, 2024, Priyanshu Garg, son of Anil Kumar Agarwal of Mohalla Kotwali Chandausi area, received a WhatsApp call on 7906349013 from 7032215982 and transferred Rs 6,70,000 in the greed of doubling the money. When the victim realized that he had been cheated, he approached the police and the police took action and got Rs 3,00,000 returned to the account. The police is making every effort to get the rest of the money to the victim. The police has completed this action by contacting ICICI Bank. The account was frozen and established through the JMIS portal.

CO Dr. Pradeep Kumar told that Priyanshu Garg, resident of Chandausi police station and Chandrakata of State Bank Colony had come to the Chandausi help desk and complained that an unknown person called on their mobile number and lured them by saying that if they put money in an unknown account, he would return it double. In this temptation, both of them put money in the account number. When they realized it, they immediately came to the police station and informed them. Looking at the seriousness of the matter, the Sahayta Help Desk, with the help of Cyber ​​Cell District Sambhal, immediately froze the amount transferred in these two accounts.

The CO said that during the investigation, about 5 lakh rupees were recovered safely from unknown accounts by contacting the nodal officers of ICICI Bank. All people are made aware not to respond to any unknown message. Do not share OTP and your account details. Cyber ​​fraud is a growing crime. In which awareness will be the only protection against it.
