The board said that an objection has been lodged regarding the notice. On the basis of which the district administration is ordering the madrasas of every district to admit the children studying in madrasas in schools for basic education.
The delegation of the Board told the Chief Minister that these madrasas are being termed as unrecognised on the ground that these madrasas are not recognised by the Board, whereas these madrasas have been established under some trust or society for years and modern education is also imparted in them along with religious education. The delegation of the Board clarified that this order issued by the Chief Secretary is against the provisions of the Constitution of the country.
The board said that the Constitution of the country has given the right to minorities to not only establish educational institutions according to their convenience, but also manage them. Similarly, the Right to Education Act, 2009 has also exempted madrasas and pathshalas from this Act.
The board delegation told the chief minister that these madrasas not only impart quality education but also provide free accommodation and food facilities to lakhs of children. The board also raised objections to the letter issued by the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights to the Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh.
The board said that regarding the demands put forward by them before CM Yogi, the Chief Minister assured the delegation that he would consider it seriously. Apart from the General Secretary, the board’s delegation included executive members Maulana Khalid Rashid Farangi Mahali, Maulana Atiq Ahmed Bastavi, Dr. Syed Qasim Rasool Ilyas (spokesperson), Advocate Saud Rais, and Zeeshan Khan.
