Swimmer Michael Phelps has now taken the Paris Games by storm, visiting the Olympic Golf grounds.

Legendary American swimmer Michael Phelps has elated several fans on social media with a selfie at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Phelps is one of the most successful Olympians of all time with a haul of 28 medals at the sporting extravaganza. He has now taken the Paris Games by storm, visiting the Olympic Golf event on Thursday as a fan of the sport. During the event, Phelps took some time out to snap a selfie with the crowd attending a game. With Phelps rocking a pair of shades and a wide grin on his face, the official account of Olympic Golf shared the photograph on Instagram. “This wins the gold medal for best selfie,” read the post.

Fans have now flocked to the comments section, reacting to Michael Phelps’ selfie on Instagram. One of them highlighted that Phelps continues to be a lovable athlete even after retiring years ago. “You’re still a favourite athlete at the Olympics, even when you’re not competing,” read one comment.

Another Instagram user was surprised to see the American swimmer at the golf event and wrote, “Not Phelps more into golf than swimming lmao.”

One fan commented, “The Greatest of all time.”

A social media user jokingly said, “He can’t finish Olympics without a medal so he has found a category for the best photographer.”

Another hilariously asked, “When will you add an Olympic Gold golf medal to your tally?”

Michael Phelps visited the opening round of the men’s Olympic Golf competition at Le Golf National. He also had a message for the fans as he talked about how golf at the Olympics was quite different than a PGA Tour. Speaking to Olympic Golf on X (formerly Twitter), Phelps said, “Being on the first tee, seeing what these guys go through in an Olympics. To me, an Olympics is different than a PGA Tour event, and I think if you asked these guys they would say the same thing.” The former swimmer added by saying, “You’re getting the chance to represent your country. There’s nothing better than wearing the Stars and Stripes.”

Speaking of the golf events at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Japan’s Matsumaya Hideki is currently leading the men’s individual event after day one of play. He is followed by USA’s Xander Schauffele in second place on the leaderboard. They will be back in action once again today, August 2. As for the women’s event, the proceedings will begin next Thursday, August 7.
