Nisha made no time in taking the attack to the young North Korean, grabbing a four-point lead and defending the same till the halfway mark.

Pak took away a point from Nisha, but only at the expense of giving away a couple to the India, as Dahiya soared to a 6-1 lead.

With the clock ticking and the North Korean in dire need of points, they resorted to a grapplefest on the mats, eventually leading to Dahiya scoring two more points and extending her lead to 8-1.

But, in the process, Dahiya was faced with an injury to her right arms, calling for medical attention. But, the Indian chose to wrestle in discomfort for the remainder of the match, grimacing with each grapple.

With 33 seconds left onf the clock, the Indian was in extreme discomfort, falling onto the mats, yelling for more medical help. Yet, once again chose to continue onwards.

But, Pak would have no remorse for the Indian, going at the Indian with full force, and would capitalise on the moment to push Dahiya down and steal a whopping 7 points with 12 seconds left, to tie up the match.

With yet another break, and more grimace added to Nisha’s face, the bout completely was turned around as Pak would pin the Indian down to the ground and claim two more points, to eke out the win at 10-8 and send the Indian back home, wiriting in pain and heartbreak.

Previously, Dahiya won her opening women’s freestyle 68kg bout against Ukraine’s Sova Rizhko 6-4 as the wrestling competition got underway at the Paris Olympics here on Monday.

India’s only entry in the heavyweight category, Nisha is an Asian Championships silver medallist and got the better of her opponent from Ukraine without much trouble.
