The 69th SOBHA Filmfare Awards South 2024 was recently held at Hyderabad’s JRC Convention Centre.

The 69th SOBHA Filmfare Awards South 2024 recently took place at the JRC Convention Centre in Hyderabad to honour the brilliance of the South film industry. The event, like every year, was held to honour the exceptional actors, musicians, directors, and technicians who have done an incredible job in the entertainment industry.

3. Best film (critics): Viduthalai Part 1 (Vetrimaaran)

4. Best actor in a leading role (Male): Vikram (Ponniyin Selvan: II)

5. Best actor (critics): Siddharth (Chithha)

6. Best actor in a leading role (Female): Nimisha Sajayan (Chithha)

7. Best actress (critics): Aishwarya Rajesh (Farhana), Aparna Das (Dada)

8. Best actor in supporting role (Male): Fahadh Faasil (Maamannan)

9. Best actor in supporting role(Female): Anjali Nair (Chithha)

10. Best music album: Dhibu Ninan Thomas, Santhosh Narayanan (Chithha)

11. Best Lyrics: Ilango Krishnan (Aga Naga, Ponniyin Selvan: II)

12. Best playback singer (Male): Haricharan (Chinnanjiru Nilave, Ponniyin Selvan: II)

13. Best playback singer (Female): Karthika Vaidyanathan (Kangal Edho, Chithha)

14. Best cinematography: Ravi Varman, (Ponniyin Selvan: II)

15. Best Production Design: Thota Tharani (Ponniyin Selvan: II)

For the unversed, Faria Abdullah, Sundeep Kishan and Vindhya Vishaka hosted the show. It featured stellar performances from Gayathri Bharadwaj, Saniya Iyappan and Aparna Balamurali.

The show featured a lot of heartfelt moments, including Nani present on stage to give Srikanth Odela and Shouryuv the awards for Best Debut Director for their films Dasara and Hi Nanna, respectively. It was yet another great year for veteran Mammootty, who received his 15th Filmfare award for Best Actor.

Apart from this, Dasara, Balagam and Baby won big in Telugu; Sapta Sagaradaache Ello: Side A and B took home the big prizes in Kannada. Ponniyin Selvan 2 and Chittha shared the spoils in Tamil and Malayalam had an eclectic set of winners.
