38966 cusecs of water was released from Diuni Barrage of Pilibhit. There is a possibility of water coming in the rivers of Shahjahanpur in three days. Due to the water coming, the water level of Garra river may increase by three meters and that of Khannaut river by two meters. The administration has given instructions to monitor and remain alert in the areas close to the rivers.
The district administration has issued an alert
Many districts of Uttar Pradesh are currently in the grip of floods. Shahjahanpur residents had faced the brunt of floods some time ago. Water had entered the streets and highways of the city, from the mohallas and colonies adjoining the city. The police administration had dealt with the situation and provided relief to the people. On Friday, the district administration has again issued an alert.
In the letter issued, it was told that due to heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand and Pilibhit, 38966 cusecs of water has been released into the Devha river from the Diuni barrage of Pilibhit. The water released may reach Garra Naari of Shahjahanpur in three days. Due to which the water level of the Garra river may rise by three meters.
The water level is likely to rise by two meters
Due to heavy rainfall in the catchment area of Pilibhit, the water level of the Khanaut river is expected to rise by two meters in the next three days. The district administration has issued an alert. After the alert was issued, panic has started building up among the people living in the areas near the rivers. However, the district administration has given instructions to monitor the areas close to the rivers.
The district administration believes that the water level of the rivers in the city area may rise. Instructions have been given to alert and keep a close watch in the areas near the rivers.
