The forensic team had collected evidence from the railway track and surrounding areas.
So far, the police and investigation agencies are empty handed in the case of attempt to blow up Kalindi Express by placing cylinder and petrol bomb in front of it in Shivrajpur, Kanpur. Police will send the samples collected during the investigation today on Sunday to the forensic lab for investigation.

On September 8, an attempt was made to blow up a train by placing a cylinder and petrol bomb in front of it at Shivrajpur on the Anwarganj-Kasganj route in Kanpur. DCP West and SIT Chief Rajesh Kumar Singh, who is investigating the case, said that the powder (explosive) found on the spot on Sunday will be sent to Agra Forensic Lab for examination. Apart from this, the bottle of petrol and the inflammable material found in it, photo of the cylinder etc. will be sent to Lucknow Forensic Lab for examination. The material will be dispatched from here on Sunday. Sealing and packing has been done.
The police have dumped the data of mobile numbers that were active at the time of the incident from three mobile towers in and around Shivrajpur. 40 thousand numbers have come to the police. This data is of one hour before and one hour after the incident.
CCTV of taking petrol in a bottle found
DCP West said that CCTV footage of petrol pumps around the crime scene has been collected. In this, many people have been captured taking petrol in bottles and barrels. Now the suspects are being matched with the CCTV footage of toll plaza, Chhibramau Kannauj Siyaram Sweets House and surrounding areas.
28 were released after interrogation, 8 new suspects were picked up
DCP West said that so far 28 suspects have been picked up and questioned in the investigation of the attempt to blow up the train. They were released after no suspects were found in the investigation. By Saturday night, 8 new suspects have been picked up and brought for questioning. At present, the investigation is revolving around the crime scene only. Only the people living nearby are being picked up and questioned.
78 railway personnel will patrol the track and submit a report every four hours
Alerted by the conspiracy to blow up the Kalindi Express, the railway administration has started patrolling the track from Kanpur to Kanchhausi i.e. Delhi route. Also, from Saturday, the railway police will camp at the stations coming in between for the security of the track. For this, a 44-member team has been formed under the leadership of Deputy SP Prayagraj Sunita Singh and GRP Inspector Kanpur Central Om Narayan Singh. Om Narayan Singh said that apart from the track, the suspects will be monitored. Apart from Kanpur Central, 78 jawans will regularly patrol Govindpuri, Panki, Bhaupur, Rura and Jhinjhak stations and will give a report every four hours. They will camp at halt stations. Special vigilance will be maintained on the Delhi route till Chhath Puja.
