In Lucknow, an employee of the electricity department was suspended when he demanded bribe in the name of getting electricity connection.
In the name of getting electricity connection, a contract worker in Lucknow demanded bribe. The case is of Basant Kunj sub-centre of Dubagga, where audio of demanding bribe of Rs 4,500 surfaced on social media on Monday. After this, the SDO dismissed him. The victim applicant had demanded bribe for one month.

4,500 rupees demanded for getting the connection done in three days
Jamuna Devi, a resident of Bhuhar village in Dubagga, had applied online (1016219482) through the Jhatpat portal at the Basant Kunj sub-centre on August 5. After a month, the applicant’s son Bablu called the sub-centre, and the person who picked up the phone introduced himself as lineman Raj Shekhawat. In the viral audio, Rs 4500 is being demanded for getting the connection done within three days. It is also being said in the audio that the distance of the pole from the consumer’s house is as per the standard.
Said to apply again
In the audio, the accused employee is asking the applicant to apply again. In the audio, there is talk of giving money in two installments, in which there is talk of giving three thousand rupees to a person named Ajay at Basant Kunj sub-center before the connection. There is talk of giving the remaining money on the day of connection. The officials said that an inquiry will be conducted in the matter, but late night the SDO has dismissed the accused employee.
