According to Amar Ujala, the Rishikesh railway authorities notified the forest department about the snake. After receiving information about the reptile, forest authorities tracked it out, captured it and released it back into its native environment.
Earlier in July, wildlife officers in Karnataka rescued a 12-foot-long King Cobra from a house compound and released it into the forest. After the state forest agency notified them about the reptile, personnel from the Agumbe Rainforest Research Station (ARRS) rushed to the location with the team. The rescue footage went viral on Instagram and other social media sites.
ARRS officer Ajay Giri, who shared the viral video on Instagram, said the villages spotted a 12-foot-long king cobra crossing a busy road. The snake was spooked by the spectators and took refuge in a bush inside a house compound. The forest department was notified of the situation by terrified residents, who then notified ARRS.
