UP STF arrested three smugglers with ganja worth Rs 50 lakh, delivery was to be given in Jaunpur.
Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force has arrested three accused of smuggling ganja while conducting raids. 256 kg of ganja has been recovered from the possession of the three arrested accused. Whose price is said to be more than Rs 50 lakh in the international market.

Among the arrested accused, the main supplier is Brijesh Gaur of Mehnagar police station area of Azamgarh district while the second accused is Ramesh Kumar, a resident of Jafrabad in Jaunpur district. While one of the accused Rinku Raut is a resident of Ganjam Odisha. STF has also recovered a DCM truck with fake number plate, three mobile phones and Rs 4,000 in cash from the possession of the accused. All the accused have been arrested from Mirzapur district. The recovered ganja was to be given to Fatteganj, a resident of Kailash in Jaunpur district.
Varanasi unit got success
Varanasi unit of UP STF was continuously getting information about smuggling of ganja in many districts of Purvanchal. STF units were deployed in this sequence. During the collection of information, STF Field Unit Varanasi received information from a reliable source that some smugglers were going to Jaunpur district from Odisha via Adalhat district Mirzapur with a huge quantity of ganja in a DCM truck. Relying on this information, Inspector Puneet Parihar, team of STF Varanasi along with police station Adalhat, arrested three smugglers from police station area Adalhat, district Mirzapur, near Hinauti Mafi Tiraha.
They commit incidents by using fake number plates
Accused Rinku Raut, arrested during interrogation in this case, told that he has a gang, which brings gyoza from Odisha and supplies it in large quantities to other states including Uttar Pradesh. Deepak is a resident of Chitrakunda (Orissa), who contacts ganja smugglers from other states including Uttar Pradesh and supplies ganja to them from Odisha.
Apart from this, for smuggling of Gauja, by making a cavity in the trucks and DCM, they put fake number plates in place of the real number plates of the vehicles and also provide the vehicles to them for money. Rinku Raut is in contact with ganja smugglers from various districts of eastern Uttar Pradesh.
Deepak has DCM truck number GJ-19Y-1923 which is registered in the name of Ranjan Bhai, son of Prabhull Bhai, resident of Sarathi Township, Tantithiya, Surat, Gujarat. After getting fake number plate UP-82AT-1635 installed on it, Gaja was loaded in it and given to Rinku. The fare till Jaunpur district was fixed at Rs 2 lakh. This ganja was to be given to Fatteganj, a resident of Kailash in Jaunpur district.
