A meeting of the Parliamentary Study Committee of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council was held at Vikas Bhawan in Pratapgarh. Chairman of the committee, Surendra Chaudhary, who was presiding over the meeting, while reviewing the work of the district administration and officials, expressed concern over the delay in the construction of Bhadri Minor Road.

Har Ghar Nal Yojana Review In the meeting, Har Ghar Nal Yojana running under Jal Jeevan Mission was also inspected. Surendra Choudhary gave clear instructions that the roads on which pipelines have been excavated under the scheme should be brought back to proper condition. If this is not done, action will be taken against the concerned department. Also, within 15 days, information should be given as to how many houses have got the benefit of this scheme.

Action on letters from public representatives During the meeting, Surendra Chaudhary also sought information from the officials about the action taken on the letters sent by the public representatives. Besides, the quality of the work done by the Public Works Department was also examined. Legislative Council member Umesh Dwivedi also termed the construction work of Bhadri Minor Road as low quality and demanded blacklisting of the concerned institution.

Instructions to remove liquor shops from places related to faith The Excise Department was instructed to remove liquor and liquor shops near religious places, so that respect for religious beliefs is maintained. Apart from this, officials of the Education Department were directed to ensure the provision of clean toilets for female teachers in government schools.

In this meeting, committee members Umesh Dwivedi, Kiranpal Kashyap and Hansraj Vishwakarma along with District Magistrate Sanjeev Ranjan, Superintendent of Police Dr. Anil Kumar, Chief Development Officer Dr. Divya Mishra and other district level officers were present.
