An uncontrolled ballast laden truck fell down, breaking the railing of the Rajwadi bridge built at the Ganga-Gomti confluence in Chaubepur police station area of Varanasi. After which it caught fire. Seeing the truck on fire after falling down from the bridge, the villagers ran towards it and rescued the injured driver and helper.

Ballast laden truck fell from the bridge According to the police, Ahraura resident Vikas Yadav and the helper were going to Ghazipur with a truck laden with ballast. Suddenly the truck lost control on the Rajwadi bridge, broke the railing of the bridge and fell into the mud below. As soon as it fell down, it caught fire. The villagers who reached the spot showed courage and pulled out the injured driver and Khalsi trapped in the cabin of the truck.
Police reached the spot, sent the injured to hospital Police reached the spot after receiving information about the incident and sent both the injured to the hospital by ambulance. Outpost in-charge Kathy Prabhakar Singh said – the ballast laden truck was going from Varanasi to Ghazipur. During this time, he went out of control on the bridge and fell into the mud below, due to which he caught fire. The villagers pulled out the driver and the helper trapped in the truck. At present both have been admitted to the hospital. The bus is from Mirzapur. Talked to bus owner Jalandhar Yadav. They are reaching the spot.
