The District Court of Balrampur, while giving its verdict in an assault case, has sentenced the husband and wife to three years imprisonment each. Along with this, the court has also imposed a fine of Rs 2,000 each on each accused. This case happened 9 years ago, when the accused had raped a woman.

According to the information, plaintiff Manju Devi had given a written complaint on July 2, 2014 at Gaura Chauraha police station. He had alleged that Sangeeta wife Suresh Kahar and Suresh Kahar son Hiralal Kahar resident Sishana abused and beat him using caste related words. Manju Devi had appealed to the police for justice, after which Gaura Chauraha police station registered a case on the basis of the complaint.
The husband and wife were found guilty and sentenced to three years’ imprisonment.
The police investigated the case and collected all the necessary evidence and filed a charge sheet against the accused in the court. During the trial, both sides presented their witnesses and evidence. After the hearing, the court found both the husband and wife guilty and sentenced them to three years’ imprisonment.
