The man was suffering from mental illness and is undergoing treatment, the man’s family confirmed.

Quick action by vigilant residents in a Noida society on Monday saved the life of a man who attempted suicide by trying to jump from the fourteenth floor of a high-rise residential building.

Police officials speaking to India Today said that the man in mentally unstable and undergoing treatment.

The 21-year-old, according to the broadcaster, is a former resident of Supertech Capetown Society in Noida Sector 74. The video of the incident is doing rounds on social media.

Two residents can be seen in the video reaching out to the man immediately and pulling him back from the handrail of the balcony from which he was dangling.

Police officials told the broadcaster that he was an ex-resident and lived with his family there previously and had moved to Sector 41, Noida.

On the day of the incident, the man went to Supertech Capetown without notifying his family and attempted suicide.

The police received a report around 10:30 am. Upon arrival, officers confirmed the man’s mental illness and ongoing treatment.

His family, who acknowledged his condition, later took him home. Authorities stated that the situation is now stable, and no further action will be taken.
