Haryana wrestler Sakshi Malik’s autobiography ‘Witness’ has been launched. In this, Sakshi Malik has talked about her childhood, getting into wrestling and sexual harassment of wrestlers. Sakshi said that Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia were exempted from the Asian Games trials.

Due to his decision the fight for justice started looking selfish. Those close to Bajrang and Vinesh filled their minds with greed. Due to which cracks started appearing in their protests also.
After being out of Paris Olympics, he said that the rules of United World Wrestling (UWW) do not allow even 10 grams more, let alone 100 grams. I was not there at that time but it is very difficult to lose 100 grams of weight.
After Sakshi’s autobiography, wrestler and Congress MLA Vinesh Phogat made a post on social media. Vinesh’s post is being linked to Sakshi’s autobiography.
Without taking anyone’s name, Vinesh wrote- ‘Don’t believe whatever you hear. There are always three sides to a story. Yours, theirs and the truth.
Vinesh Phogat’s post…
Sakshi Malik made revelations in the book 1. In childhood, the tuition teacher molested me, I used to be scared. Sakshi said – In childhood, the tuition teacher molested me. I couldn’t tell my family about it because I felt it was my fault. During my school days, the tuition teacher used to harass me. He would call me to his house at untimely hours to take classes and would sometimes try to touch me. I was scared to go for tuition classes but I couldn’t tell my mother.”
2. Nothing was visible beyond wrestling Sakshi said that in the beginning, gradually when I started playing international matches, my interest started increasing. My love for wrestling had increased a lot. Nothing was visible except wrestling. At that time the goal was set that I also have to go to the Olympics and win a medal for the country. When the national anthem of our country is played in another country, the feeling is very different, everything else seems useless in front of it.

3. Like Vinesh-Bajrang, I did not take the decision of trial exemption. Sakshi said- along with Vinesh-Bajrang, she campaigned against former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Singh against sexual harassment of women wrestlers. This matter is now going on in the court. After the suspension of WFI, an ad hoc committee started looking after the functioning of wrestling. Which gave exemption to Bajrang and Vinesh from the 2023 Asian Games trials, but I decided not to do so despite the suggestion of my colleagues.
4. Vinesh-Bajrang started talking about trial exemption Sakshi did not reveal the names of the people who influenced Bajrang and Vinesh. Sakshi wrote, “Like before, selfish thinking started dominating again. People close to Bajrang and Vinesh started filling their minds with greed. They started talking about getting exemption from trials for sports.”

5. People thought about Bajrang-Vinesh’s decision and protested for selfish reasons. Sakshi said that Bajrang and Vinesh’s exemption from trials did not have a good effect. This badly affected the image of our protest. Due to this, we reached such a situation in which many supporters started thinking that we are doing this protest for our own selfishness.
6.Now the person doing sexual harassment will think 100 times Sakshi Malik said that we have definitely done this that if someone does sexual harassment, then he will think 100 times whether he too should go and protest. Our fight was for our sisters and daughters. This was to end the phenomenon of sexual harassment in sports.
7. I went there and found out that they were going to protest. Regarding the performance of the wrestlers, Sakshi Malik said that we had a meeting at a place 3-4 days before the protest. Then I got a call from Babita Phogat asking if I was coming. When I called Bajrang, Bajrang said that I am also going, you also come. Then we came to know that we were going to hold such a protest and its permission was given by Babita Phogat and Tirtha Rana. He wanted Brij Bhushan to move and one of us to sit there. We were happy that the girls got justice.
Both of them had jointly decided on the movement
Sakshi Malik’s husband Satyavrat Kadian said that Sakshi’s behavior is natural. While deciding for the movement, it was definitely in our mind that we are jumping into a big fight. Sakshi has a soft nature and also gets emotional easily. Gives more importance to truth. Both of them were of the same opinion that what we have faced, the coming generation and the coming girls should not go through that stage.
Sakshi also shared a post on social media and said that what is the use of doing so much for the honor and country, when no one is listening to us. Sakshi said on the wrestler movement that I have decided that for this his career may end or he may lose his job. No matter what happens, we will definitely fight for our sisters and daughters.
