On the occasion of Govardhan Puja in Bareilly, programs of cow worship were organized in all the cow shelters of the district. On this occasion, all the cow sheds were decorated in a grand manner. After cow worship, the cows were fed jaggery and banana.

On this occasion, District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar reached the Large Cow Conservation Center located in village Manpur Ahiyapur of development block Kyara and worshiped the cow with full rituals. The cows were fed jaggery, puri, apple and banana. On this occasion, the District Magistrate gave instructions to the concerned officials to regularly feed the cows with adequate fodder and also to get their health checked. Along with this, adequate cleanliness arrangements should be maintained in the cowsheds, so that the cows do not face any kind of problem. For this, instructions were given to ensure availability of all the basic arrangements including green fodder, chaff, animal feed, clean drinking water, shade in the cowsheds.

315 cows were found preserved in the cowshed and four sheds were constructed. The District Magistrate gave instructions to build one more shed in the premises through MNREGA with the aim of preserving more cows. Instructions were also given to install solar lights in the cowshed. There is 14 bighas of pasture land at some distance outside the campus, instructions were given to plant green fodder and Napier grass on it.
Smaller cattle were directed to be kept separately for their safety. On the complaint of jackals entering the premises, instructions were given to secure the boundary wires by placing nets etc. and instructions were also given to mark the roundabouts in the village and get earthwork done on them as per requirement. On this occasion, all the concerned officers including Project Director (DRDA), Sub-District Magistrate Sadar, Veterinary Officer were present.
