The effect of the demonstration organized by lawyers in Ghaziabad was also seen in Unnao. On Monday, all the advocates of Unnao showed solidarity by abstaining from judicial work. The main reason for this protest was the misbehavior with the lawyers in Ghaziabad and the police crackdown.

Slogans raised against police administration
Hundreds of advocates gathered and demonstrated under the leadership of Unnao Bar Association President Satish Shukla. The advocates first started the march from the local Bar Association office and then reached the SP office and raised their voice. They expressed their displeasure by raising slogans of “Down with the police administration”. During this, the advocates gave a message of solidarity and reiterated their commitment towards the judiciary.
Satish Shukla said, “The incident that happened with our colleagues in Ghaziabad is extremely unfortunate. We condemn such incidents and appeal to the police administration to show respect and cooperation towards the lawyers.”
Said- Violation of rights will not be tolerated
He further said that violation of the rights of advocates will not be tolerated under any circumstances. The advocates involved in this protest also submitted a memorandum to their ASP outside the SP office. He demanded that appropriate action be taken against the policemen involved in the Ghaziabad incident and effective measures be taken to avoid such incidents in future.
The advocates termed the incident as humiliating for the entire advocate fraternity and stressed the need to unite to maintain the dignity of the court. Unnao ASP Akhilesh Singh also talked to the lawyers. In this talk, he assured that their demands will be kept in mind and the police administration will try to increase cooperation with the advocates. “We are committed to fostering dialogue with advocates,” he said. Any misunderstanding or disagreement will be resolved through dialogue.”
