Pollution in the air of the city has increased due to the massive fireworks display on Diwali in Hapur. Due to which the air has become poisonous. The air quality index (AQI) reached 277 on Monday morning. Due to which people are having difficulty in breathing.

Rapid increase in pollution
AQI levels increased due to Diwali fireworks on October 31 and November 1. The next day after Diwali, there was improvement in the air, but when the wind speed stopped, the pollution increased again. Due to pollution, children and the elderly are having trouble breathing.
Doctors have advised people, especially children and the elderly, to stay indoors. Harmful particles like PM2.5 and PM10 are increasing in the air. On Monday, PM2.5 level was recorded at 279 and PM10 level at 344. ADM Sandeep Kumar said that strict steps are being taken to control pollution. Instructions have been given to the concerned departments to take action.
