Directed by VK Prakash and Jay Dev Banerjee, this film starred Anupam Kher, Satish Kaushik, Neena Gupta and others in important roles.
Kaagaz 2, released at the cinemas on March 1, 2024, is the sequel to the comedy-drama Kaagaz directed by the late Satish Kaushik. Both films received critical acclaim from the audience and the critics. However, Kaagaz 2 flopped at the box office and was removed from the cinema halls within a week. Despite the failure of the film at the box office, it has succeeded in receiving praise on the OTT platforms Disney+Hotstar and Amazon Prime Video. Directed by VK Prakash and Jay Dev Banerjee, this film starred Anupam Kher, Satish Kaushik, Neena Gupta and others in important roles. This film failed to reach even the Rs 1 crore mark at the box office. As per a report by Bollywood Hungama, Kaagaz 2 could only earn Rs 8 lakh in a week at the box office. This film was a joint venture of Satish Kaushik Entertainment LLP & Venus Worldwide Entertainment Pvt Ltd.
Anil Kapoor shared a close bond with Satish Kaushik. He dropped Kaagaz 2 trailer on social media, penning a heartwarming post in memory of his late friend. He wrote, “This film is extra special…my very dear friend’s last film…I feel lucky to see him perform one last time. Yeh sirf mudda nahi, yeh har aadmi ke emotions hai,” wrote Anil Kapoor on Instagram. Kaagaz 2 revolves around how political rallies and campaigns often result in traffic jams and blocked roads. This leads to problems for commuters.
Satish Kaushik passed away on March 9, 2023. In his career spanning decades, the late actor won the hearts of the viewers with his exemplary performances. He was honoured with the Best Supporting Actor award for the 2021 comedy-drama Kaagaz. Satish Kaushik also directed this film. He died after suffering from a heart attack on his way to the hospital in Gurugram. His last on-screen appearance was in the yet-to-be-released film Emergency. Kangana Ranaut plays the lead role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in this film.
Emergency stars Anupam Kher, Manisha Koirala, Shreyas Talpade and others in significant roles. This film was scheduled for release in India on September 6. It has been postponed as the film failed to clear the censorship requirements of the Central Board of Film Certification.
