Rupali Ganguly’s husband, Ashwin K Verma, shared a post about mothers just hours after he defended the Anupamaa star against his daughter’s claims.

Anupamaa star Rupali Ganguly landed in controversy after her stepdaughter Esha Verma made shocking allegations against her. Esha, who is Rupali’s husband Ashwin K Verma’s daughter from his first marriage, accused Rupali of separating her from her father. Ashwin had come forward to defend the Anupamaa star. However, Rupali is yet to react to the claims. Amid these developments, Ashwin shared a post on his Instagram Stories which spoke about the ‘first love’ of his life.

The post was neither dedicated to Rupali Ganguly nor his ex-wife. Instead, the post was a nod to his mother. The post featured a video with Hollywood actor Keanu Reeves in it. The video lauded mothers for being their children’s first everything — friend, home, more.

“The best woman in the world, my life journey started with her. My first room (was) my mom’s womb. My first restaurant my mom’s breast, my first toilet my mom’s lap. My first school my mom’s kitchen. Ashwin shared the post but with no caption. However, it seemed like a nod to his mother.

The post was shared hours after he defended Rupali against his daughter’s claims. His daughter Esha claimed that Rupali had an affair with her father for 12 years ‘while he was in his second marriage.’ She accused Rupali of separating him from the daughters and claimed that she is ‘controlling’ and ‘psychotic’ towards him. Esha added that when she tried to call her father, Rupali began yelling and issuing death threats toward her and her mother.

Following these claims, Ashwin took to X (previously known as Twitter) and came to Rupali’s support. “I understand that my younger daughter still holds a lot of hurt about the dissolution of her parent’s relationship as divorce is a difficult experience that can greatly affect and harm the children of that marriage,” he said.

“But marriages end for many reasons, and my relationship with my second wife had multiple challenges that led to our separation-challenges that were between she and I and that had nothing to do with any other person. I only want the best for my children and my wife and it saddens me to see anyone being pulled into cycles of negativity by the media,” he added.

Meanwhile, Rupali made her first public appearance since the shocking allegations on Monday night. She stepped out for dinner with Ashwin and their son.
