A meeting was held with the Chief Secretary at Lok Bhavan regarding the nine-point demands of the Employees-Teachers Joint Front. In this, Morcha representatives discussed their problems with officials of various departments. Additional Chief Secretary Finance and Secondary Deep Ku was present in the meeting.

Consensus reached on settlement of these demands

  • Salary discrepancies of Lab Technician, Pharmacist and Optometrist cadre will be resolved.
  • Orders on cadre restructuring will be issued soon. Also, action will be taken to regularize the daily wage workers till December 2001.
  • The earlier agreements of the Roadways Employees Joint Council will be implemented.
  • DA and retirement benefits will be paid to employees of other corporations. The problem of loss making corporations will be solved.
  • Instructions were given to publish the pending service manuals of the Irrigation Department soon.
  • By releasing the seniority list of government teachers adjusted from Uttarakhand to Uttar Pradesh, orders were given to complete the pending promotions soon.
  • Consideration will be given to providing the facility of promotion to the post of teacher to class III and IV employees of aided secondary schools.
  • A permanent policy will be prepared regarding regulation, rules, service security and minimum wages for outsourcing and contract employees.
  • Appropriate arrangements will be made to solve the problems arising in cashless treatment facilities. The Chief Secretary held a meeting with the employees. The Chief Secretary directed the officers of all the departments to issue entry cards to the Secretariat to the Presidents and General Ministers of the employees’ organizations. Hold a meeting at least once every month. This will create an environment of better communication and harmony with the employees. The Chief Secretary took the issues of the employees seriously and assured to take appropriate steps towards immediate resolution.
