‘Take Early Retirement Or…’: Tirumala Trust Set To Remove Non-Hindu Staffers In New Reforms – News18

The trust’s chairman, BR Naidu, said there was no question of allowing non-Hindu workers in the temple.
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has passed a resolution asking all non-Hindu staffers to either opt for the Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS) or look for other jobs in other government sectors. The temple trust aims to remove all non-Hindu workers as a part of the reforms being introduced after the laddoo row and the subsequent political slugfest.
TTD is an independent trust which manages various temples, including the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple in Andhra Pradesh. The trust’s chairman, BR Naidu, said there was no question of allowing non-Hindu workers in the temple.
Naidu said he had a list of the non-Hindu workers and he’d talk to them as the reform was a demand from all Hindus.
The temple trust also said that only Hindu vendors will be allowed to operate in and outside the temple.
He added, “Only Hindu vendors will be allowed to run their commercial setup. We will remove non-Hindu vendors, too.”
He shared, “The previous Yuvajana Shramika Rythu Congress Party (YRSCP) government had given land under our jurisdiction to a hotel called ‘Mumtaaz’. They had violated norms so we cancelled that.”
