Farmers had to face huge losses due to the cutting of the canal track near village Chintapur in Hathras Gate Kotwali area of Hathras district. Due to the water coming out of the canal, potato and wheat crops grown in hundreds of bighas were submerged. Farmers first proposed to connect the tracks themselves.
