IPL side Gujarat Titans managed to acquire the services of South African seamer Kagiso Rabada at the IPL 2025 Auction in Saudi Arabia on Sunday.
The Ahmedabad-based franchise paid INR 10.75 Crores to get the Protea pacer on board.
GT managed to price away the pacer following a round of bids from multiple teams. Punjab Kings also had the option to retain the player but opted against it to let the Gujarat side claim their first player of the auction.
Rabada, who has been PBKS’ mainstay pacer in the past couple of years, would surely add bite to the GT bowling attack.
The 29-year-old South African came in second in call at the auction after Arshdeep Singh.
The Indian southpaw was retained by the Punjab Kings for a price of Rs. 18 Crores, after Sunrisers Hyderabad tried to bring in the star pacer.
Shreyas Iyer, who led Kolkata Knight Riders to the IPL 2024 title, was bought by the Punjab Kings who paid 26.75 Crore Indian rupees in a record deal.

English batter Jos Buttler was picked up by the Gujarat Titans for Rs 15.75 Crore Rupees.
Shreyas’ record did not last long at the top though as Lucknow Super Giants shelled out a record-shattering 27 Crore Indian Rupees to bring in star Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant.
