This case is related to village Nadmai Nagariya, where Subhash Chandra Katheria had fixed the marriage of his daughter Shivani with Yogesh Kumar, son of Rajkumar Katheria. All the wedding programs had been finalized and the wedding procession was scheduled to arrive on 26th November. But a day before the wedding, Subhash suddenly refuses to marry the disabled groom and says that he will get his daughter married to someone else. Subhash said that Yogesh is handicapped in one leg, and due to this he will not marry his daughter.

After this decision of her father, daughter Shivani decided to rebel against her father and reach the police station. She reached Karhal police station alone and told the police about her insistence on marriage. Shivani told the police that she would marry Yogesh Kumar only and for this she also showed her Aadhar card and class 10 marksheet as proof of her age. She told that she is 20 years old and is an adult, so she will marry as per her own wish.
Police took the matter seriously
The police took the matter seriously and tried to call the girl’s father Subhash to the police station, but he did not come. Shivani told the police station in-charge that if any legal action was taken against her family or in-laws, she would oppose it. The girl also submitted a compromise letter in which she said that she was going to her in-laws’ house of her own free will and would get married there soon.

Police station in-charge Lalit Kumar Bhati said that it was a social matter and since the girl was an adult, she was free to take the decision as per her wish. The police did not take any legal action in this case and let the girl go on her own free will.
