Bangladesh has defeated West Indies by 101 runs in the Kingston Test. With this victory, Bangladeshi team has succeeded in drawing the 2-match series 1-1. The team had to face defeat by 201 runs in the first match. Now a series of 3 ODI and 3 T-20 matches will be played between the two teams from December 8.
On Tuesday, the fourth day of the match, Bangladesh started playing with the score of 193/5. The team scored 268 runs in the second innings and gave a target of 287 runs to the West Indies. In reply, West Indies team was all out for 185 runs. Taijul Islam, who took one wicket in the first innings, took 5 wickets in the second innings. He was chosen player of the match. Whereas, Joyden Sills was the player of the series.
Zaker Ali’s fifty, Bangladesh all out at 268 Zaker Ali, who started his innings from 29, scored 91 runs. He made important partnerships with Taijul Islam, Hasan Mahmood and Nahid Rana in the middle-lower order and took the team’s score to 268 runs. Zaker made partnerships of 34 runs with Taijul Islam, 32 runs with Hasan Mahmood and 22 runs with Nahid Rana.
Taijul Islam scored 14 runs. Apart from him, no other lower order batsman could touch double figures. Windies’ Alzarri Joseph and Kemar Roach took 3-3 wickets.
West Indies could score only 185 runs in the run chase, fifty from Kavem Hodge West Indies team, which set out to chase the target of 287 runs, could score only 185 runs in the second innings. For the host team, opener Craig Brathwaite contributed 43 runs and Hodge contributed 55 runs. Justin Gervais scored 20 runs. The remaining batsmen could not do much.
Taijul Islam got 5 wickets, Taskin and Hasan got 2 wickets each. Taijul Islam took 5 wickets in the second innings for Bangladesh. Whereas, Hasan Mahmood and Taskin Ahmed took 2-2 wickets. Nahid Rana, who took 5 wickets in the previous innings, got one wicket.
