To realize the dream of providing tap water to every house under ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’ in Ghazipur, District Magistrate Aryaka Akhauri visited Gram Panchayat Rampur Jeevan of development block Manihari. DM conducted on-site inspection of water tank construction work and informed the concerned officers.

Administration into action after MP’s questionsRecently, MP Afzal Ansari had raised questions on the progress of every household tap scheme in the ‘Disha’ meeting. After this the district administration seems to be in action mode. During the inspection, the DM took information from the villagers about the status of water supply and pipe leaks.
During the inspection of the quality of the pipeline, the District Magistrate carefully examined the control panel room and pipeline of the water tank. The pipeline was dug and its quality was checked. Giving strict instructions to the Executive Engineer Rural of Jal Nigam, he said, “In the houses where water connection has not yet been made, supply of pure drinking water should be ensured as soon as possible.”
Negligence will not be tolerated. DM made it clear that any kind of negligence in work will not be tolerated. He instructed the Executive Engineer that whatever deficiencies have come to light should be rectified immediately.
Communication with the villagers: The people of the village put forward the problems of water supply before the DM. He assured that all the problems will be resolved on priority basis. Officials present on the spot: Executive Engineer Jal Nigam Rural Mohammad Qasim Hashmi, employees of the executing agency and a large number of villagers were present during the inspection.
