A Bengaluru Police constable died by suicide allegedly due to torture by his wife and in-laws, the police said on Saturday.
The move comes amid the nationwide outrage over the chilling suicide incident by Atul Subhash, a Bihar-based engineer who worked in Bengaluru. He died by suicide on Monday alleging harassment by his wife in a video and a note.
The cop was identified as HC Thippanna, 34, who was a Head Constable at Bengaluru’s Hulimavu Traffic Police Station.
He took to extreme step on Friday night on the railway tracks between Heelalige Railway Station and Carmelaram Husaguru Railway Gate in the city.
