A woman died after being hit by a goods train on Tuesday evening at the railway crossing located in the middle of the city in Lakhimpur Kheri. The accident happened while passing through Lakhimpur railway station.

After efforts made by the police to identify the woman, she has been identified as Urmila (50 years), resident of Gutaiyabagh.
This accident happened at the crossing passing through the railway platform located near Krishna Talkies in Sadar Kotwali area. The woman was crossing the railway crossing when she was hit by a goods train. Eyewitnesses say that the accident happened due to a goods train.
As soon as information about the accident was received, GRP police reached the spot. Police made efforts to identify the woman, but initially she could not be identified. Later the woman was identified as Urmila. Police have sent the body for postmortem and investigation into the case is ongoing.
