NewJeans’ Danielle Marsh Roped In As Global Ambassador Of Luxury Watch Brand, Fans React – News18

Social media users point out that Danielle Marsh was addressed by her full name in the announcement made by Omega instead of NewJeans’ Danielle.
Towards the end of November, the five-membered K-pop girl group NewJeans terminated their contract with ADOR. This comes after months of escalating tension between HYBE and the former CEO of ADOR, Min Hee Jin. Since their sudden exit from the agency, the group has consistently been in the news for various reasons. Recently, one member of NewJeans was announced as the global ambassador for a luxury brand, which evoked varied reactions from fans.
On Tuesday, December 17, Danielle Marsh was announced as the newest global ambassador of the luxury watch brand Omega. The company shared the announcement on its various social media handles. In a picture posted along with the announcement, the 19-year-old K-pop idol was seen wearing a black top and showcased Omega’s New Constellation watch. In the caption, the brand wrote, “Welcome to the OMEGA family. A radiant debut from Danielle Marsh. The New Constellation sparkles with her signature style.”
Soon, fans of the K-pop idol pointed out that the luxury watch brand addressed her by her full name instead of NewJeans’ Danielle. Moreover, some also noticed that the brand followed the Jeanzforfree Instagram account rather than following the one handled by ADOR.
One fan wrote, “Lol, the fact that they follow @jeanzforfree instead of the official one, GO DANIELLE GO.”
Another said, “Not NewJeans Danielle, but Danielle. Does this mean they are now in their solo era?”
Someone also mentioned, “Danielle looks absolutely stunning! Can’t wait to see more of her and Omega. It suits her so well.”
A fan asked, “If their contracts are still valid (legally), shouldn’t it be Danielle of NewJeans? Or have they started solo careers? I’m confused now, lol.”
Just days before Danielle was announced as the global ambassador of Omega, South Korean media reports claimed that the five-membered K-pop girl group lost one of their advertising deals. Reportedly, as a consequence of their unilateral decision to terminate their contract with ADOR, NewJeans, which includes Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin and Hyein, lost their advertising contract with Shinhan Financial Group.
They served as official models for the financial brand’s integrated platform SOL. As per a report by Koreaboo, on December 13, KST, the brand decided not to renew its advertising contract with the K-pop girl group. Their contract ends this December.
NewJeans decided to terminate their contract with HYBE’s subsidiary ADOR after the agency failed to rectify the breaches in their contract in a given time period. They also alleged that the agency mistreated them as well as their staff.
