Ravichandran Ashwin retirement LIVE updates: Star Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has announced his retirement from international cricket on Wednesday, December 18. The 38-year-old spinner is India’s second leading wicket-taker in international cricket as well as Test cricket.

Since making his Test debut for India against the West Indies in Delhi on November 6, 2011, Ashwin has played in a total of 106 matches and dismissed 537 batters. Only Anil Kumble (619) has dismissed more batters than him in the five-day format of the game for India.

Ashwin has played 41 World Test Championship (WTC) matches for India and has 195 wickets to his name which is the most by any player.

Apart from his super performances in Test cricket, Ashwin has played 116 ODIs and 65 T20Is for India and has dismissed 156 and 72 batters respectively.
