A monthly review meeting of District Ganga Committee, District Environment and Tree Plantation Committee was organized under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Akshay Tripathi in the Collectorate Auditorium in Lalitpur on Thursday.

In the Ganga Committee meeting, District Magistrate Akshay Tripathi said that if anyone is found doing any kind of pollution in the rivers and throwing religious offerings in the rivers, a fine will be collected from the concerned person. The District Panchayat Raj Officer should get information and warning boards installed near the rivers. Instructions were given to make people aware.
Rivers can be kept clean only through public awareness.
He said that rivers can be kept clean only through public participation and public awareness. Instructions were given to form Village Wetland Committee at the Gram Panchayat level. Along with preparing a list of ghats where Ganga Aarti can be performed in the district, regular cleaning of the ghats will be done. Dustbins will also be installed for cleanliness and at appropriate distances.
The Executive Officer directed the Municipality to implement the Fecal Sludge Treatment Plant (FSTP) established in Dailwara as soon as possible and issued instructions to complete the mapping and tapping of drains as soon as possible.
Proposal to form investigation committee of District Ganga Committee
Divisional Director Gautam Singh proposed the formation of an investigation committee of the District Ganga Committee for physical verification of NGT related promises and information received from the departments, which was agreed to by the District Magistrate.
In the review meeting of District Environment and Tree Plantation, the District Magistrate gave instructions to all the departments to verify the tree plantation on Tehsil Day and Jan Chaupal. Instructions were given to select patches of land of one acre or more suitable for the upcoming tree plantation. So that the layout of the plantation site can be prepared in time.
The Divisional Director instructed all the departments to send information about 5 percent of the tree plantation sites done by them to the Divisional Director’s office along with maintaining security arrangements at the tree plantation sites and preparing gram panchayat wise micro plans.
The departments which have not done geo tagging. Instructions were issued to them to complete the work soon. In the meeting, Project Officer District Ganga Committee Ketan Dubey, Regional Officer Pollution Control Board Imran Ali, Deputy Commissioner Labor Employment RK Yadav, ARTO Mohd. Qayyum, Deputy Agriculture Director Basant Kumar, Govind Jaiswal Electricity Department, Ritesh Kumar Higher Education Department, AE. Jal Nigam Rahul Singh, Dr. Shiv Prakash, DPM Municipality Deepak Kumar, Basudev Singh, Laxman Chaurasia etc. were present.
