The Excise team has recovered 26 drums of spurious liquor from the accused. These drums were filled with 5200 liters of illegal alcohol. After which the team has arrested the accused and a case has been registered against him in Atrauli police station under the Excise Act.

The accused was coming from Bulandshahr

Excise Inspector Varun Nayak, Excise Inspector Enforcement Smriti Gangwar and their team had received information about the accused. After which they stopped the accused near Avantibai intersection on the route from Bulandshahr towards Aligarh.

Officials said the accused first tried to run away, but was caught. Shadman son Zafar Ali, resident of Shahjahanpur, was driving Tata Magic. First he tried to mislead the officials. When the vehicle was checked, 5200 liters of illegal alcohol was found in it. After which a case has been registered against the accused.

126 lives were lost in 2021

Officials said that this alcohol is used to make counterfeit liquor. The liquor prepared from this can also be fatal. Even a small amount of alcohol can kill people.

A similar liquor scandal took place in Aligarh in 2021. In which more than 125 people lost their lives due to spurious liquor. After which more than 17 cases were registered in 11 police stations of Aligarh. 21 accused were arrested and several gangs were registered. The court has also punished one of them.

Atrauli police station in-charge Vijaykant Sharma said that a case has been registered against the accused on the basis of the complaint of the Excise Department. The matter is being investigated and the accused is being interrogated. So that his further accused can also be arrested.
