There was a gathering of litterateurs and artists on the third day of the ongoing Repertva Festival Season 12 in Lucknow. Laksh Maheshwari’s slam poetry, lyricist and story writer Rahgir’s melodious tunes and Javed Akhtar’s literary discussions forced the audience to say wow.

Javed Akhtar had a long conversation with Roshan Abbas on stage. During this, he shared memories related to Lucknow with the audience. During the discussion, Javed Akhtar also discussed veteran poets like Majaz Lakhnavi, Kaifi Azmi. He said that both these poets belong to two different generations. Javed Akhtar said that today is the era of reels, through this the importance of poems has increased. Literature is easily reaching from one country to another through social media.
During the discussion, Javed Akhtar also introduced the youth to the aspects of married life. He said that married life is a litmus test. Here, from the color of curtains to the color of walls, husband and wife do not always have the same opinion. Javed Akhtar laughingly said that the one who has gone through this ordeal feels as if his life is successful, on this the audience also laughed a lot.

‘Don’t work for the purpose of earning money’
During the discussion on the stage, Javed Akhtar gave the message of living life to the parents and youth. He said that it is not necessary that a doctor’s son becomes a doctor and an engineer’s son become an engineer. Let children do whatever they want to do. But the youth should keep in mind that whatever work they do should be excellent. Be it shoe polishing or grass cutting, there should be excellence in it. Always focus on work that you love, do not work just for the purpose of earning money.

Javed Akhtar said that when people ask where I am from, I tell myself that I am from Lucknow. We studied at Kelvin Talukdar School. Spent a long time in Lucknow. Lived this city a lot. There is a different relationship with Lucknow which will always remain.

Young lyricist and litterateur Rahgir enthralled the audience with his words on the stage of Repertava. Hanging the guitar around his neck, as soon as he read the first line ‘Autumn has not come yet, the leaves have already fallen’, applause started echoing from all around. After this, a brilliant presentation of the songs ‘Yeh jo hans rahi hai duniya meri nakamayabyon pe, taane kas rahi hai duniya meri nadaniyaan pe’ was given. After this, on the demand of the audience, ‘Brother passerby, which vehicle did we climb’ and ‘Phoolon ki laashgi mein tajagi chahta hai’ was narrated. The audience was seen dancing and clapping on every song of Rahgir.
