In this, the police considered the history-sheeter to be the mastermind of the scam and have collected many evidences, exposing his entire black hole.

Arrest took place on 29 October
A case was registered against 7 people including Jhokanbagh resident Harendra Masih on August 12 in Nawabad police station on land grabbing, fraud and other charges. History-sheeter Harendra Masih kept dodging the police for about two months. When he absconded, the police announced a reward of Rs 1.25 lakh on him. The police arrested him on 29 October.
After the arrest, the police had 90 days to file the charge sheet. But the investigating Kotwali police station in-charge Shailendra Singh conducted a speedy investigation and filed the charge sheet within about two months. This increased the difficulties of his bail. Now the police will also file a supplementary charge sheet in this case.

In the charge sheet, the police have made only the documentary evidence presented by Harendra as evidence against him. The committee of which he became the secretary of the American organization International Service Fellowship for USA, required a doctoral degree. But he had no such degree.
By committing fraud, he made his wife also a member of the society. The land deeds, lease documents and power of attorney were also manipulated. The police have extracted details of his transactions in about six bank accounts between 2018 and 2024. Many of his benami properties have been detected in Jhansi including Kanpur and Prayagraj.
Chargesheet in case of extortion
Nawabad police also filed a charge sheet against Harendra in other cases including demanding extortion, committing fraud by preparing fake Aadhaar card. A woman resident of Jhokanbag had lodged an FIR in Nawabad police station in September accusing Harendra Masih of demanding extortion of Rs 10 lakh. On October 27, Harendra was caught with a stolen bike.
