In Gonda, Divisional Commissioner of Devipatan Mandal Shashi Bhushan Lal Sushil has taken strict action on two separate corruption complaints. Handing over the investigation of both the cases to the Joint Development Commissioner, he has been demanded to submit the report soon. Divisional Commissioner made these complaints

Allegation of irregularities in tender process The first complaint pertains to the flood works section Gonda, in which it was alleged that the executive engineer and his subordinate officers made the payment by violating the estimates without following the tender process. Also, funds worth crores of rupees were misused. Complainant Rita Devi and others also claimed that an amount of approximately Rs 10 crore was shown on paper without any work being done. Irregularities were found in the earnest money given by the contractors and payment through contracts. In this case, the Divisional Commissioner handed over the responsibility of investigation to the Joint Development Commissioner and ordered to take prompt and fair action.

Corruption in Municipal Council Bhinga The second complaint pertains to Municipal Council Bhinga, Shravasti, in which allegations of corruption and irregularities in development works have been made. Complainant Manoj Pathak alleged that irregularities worth crores of rupees have been done in development and construction works. He said that construction work was done without tender process and advertisements were published secretly outside the district. Additionally, irregularities were also found in the purchase of equipment and e-rickshaws. In this case also, the Divisional Commissioner has given the responsibility to the Joint Development Commissioner for investigation.

Divisional Commissioner Shashi Bhushan Lal Sushil said that a transparent and impartial investigation will be conducted in both these cases. Strict action will be taken if the concerned officials are found guilty.
