The wedding of a vegetable vendor’s daughter took place at Cleo County Society’s clubhouse, with over 200 guests in attendance.

A residential society in Noida’s Sector-121 hosted the wedding of a vegetable vendor’s daughter, who sells produce from a cart outside the society. The Senior Citizen Club of Cleo County Society, which treats the woman like their own daughter, took the lead in organising the wedding. The wedding took place at the society’s clubhouse, with over 200 guests in attendance.

Satpal, a resident of Jaitpur in Delhi, has reportedly been selling vegetables outside the society since the COVID-19 pandemic. He has four daughters and two sons. While he managed to marry off three of his daughters, he struggled to afford a wedding for his youngest daughter due to financial constraints.

According to a report in Dainik Jagran, the club arranged Puja’s wedding to a man named Rohit, who used to work as a security guard, but now works for a private company. The club also gifted all essential household items to the couple as part of the dowry.

“Whenever anyone needed vegetables, the daughter of a hawker who used to sell vegetables outside Cleo County Society of Noida, would deliver the vegetables to the houses in the society without any delay on a single call,” reads the caption to the picture shared on X (formerly known as Twitter).

It adds, “The people of the society treated her like their own daughter and the Senior Citizens Club came forward and arranged her marriage and bore all the expenses. Today her life has blossomed with a new beginning.”
