Due to the ongoing engineering work on the Gorakhpur-Gonda railway section, the routes of two major trains have been diverted. Katihar-Amritsar Express and Saharsa-Anand Vihar special trains will now pass through Balrampur railway line.
,
Katihar-Amritsar Express will run on Balrampur-Badhani-Gonda route on 13, 20, 27 January and 3, 10, 17 February. Whereas Saharsa-Anand Vihar special train will use the same route on 15, 22, 29 January and 5, 12, 19 February. Pankaj Kumar Singh, Chief Public Relations Officer of North Eastern Railway, Gorakhpur, has clarified that both the trains will not stop at any station of Balrampur. There will be no stoppage at the station.
This route change is likely to affect traffic in Balrampur city. Especially at places like Jharkhandi Railway Station, Block Mark and Ambedkar Tiraha, traffic jams may occur. This problem will persist until the ongoing engineering work on the Gorakhpur-Basti-Gonda railway line is completed.
