Fatehpur Police, achieving a major success, has arrested a murderer carrying a reward of Rs 25,000 who was absconding for four years. In May 2021, the accused Mohammad Irshad alias Bauwa, along with two of his associates, had murdered a person by smearing them with cotton.

DSP Sadar Sushil Kumar Dubey said that a case of murder was registered on the complaint of the deceased’s brother Shadab Ahmed. Two accused were immediately arrested, but the main accused Mohammad Irshad absconded. The Superintendent of Police had announced a reward of Rs 25,000 on the accused.
On the information of the informer, the police came to know that the accused had changed his name and was hiding in the house of Mehrunisha in Abu Nagar Nai Basti of the city. The police team led by investigator Ajit Kumar Shukla conducted a raid and arrested the accused.
During interrogation, it was revealed that the accused did not go to his home district Unnao after the murder, but was living in Fatehpur by changing his name, driving an e-rickshaw and working as a labourer.
