A large number of patients gathered at the free eye care camp organized on Sunday at Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Tirwa, Kannauj. A team of expert doctors from Shankara Eye Hospital, Chaubepur, Kanpur examined 290 patients who came to the camp.

The patients identified in this camp, organized annually in the memory of Chaudhary Ram Mohan Lal Gahoi, will be taken to Shankara Eye Hospital in Kanpur by bus. Social worker Anshul Gupta said that all arrangements for operation, stay and food of the patients will be made free of cost. Patients will have to stay in the hospital for 72 hours, after which they will be brought back to Tirwa.
The special thing is that modern technology will be used in cataract operation, in which lens implantation is done without incision and stitches. With this technology, patients will get better vision and the recovery process will also be faster.
