After a rape case was registered against Congress MP Rakesh Rathore in Sitapur, the police took important action late on Sunday night. The police reached the MP’s residence along with the victim and prepared a map of the incident site.

A woman leader from Kotwali Nagar area has made serious allegations against MP Rakesh Rathore. The victim alleges that the MP physically exploited her for five years on the pretext of marriage and luring her into a political career. MP Rathore is absconding since the case was registered and for the last two days neither has he been seen at his residence nor has his side appeared before the media.
police force deployed Keeping in view the safety of the victim, the police have deployed police force outside her residence. Those coming and going to the house are being strictly checked. Whereas earlier there used to be a crowd of people at the MP residence, now there is silence there. Only security personnel and police vehicles coming for investigation are visible. According to inspector in-charge Anoop Shukla, the investigation process is going on at a fast pace.
