Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi starrer film ‘OMG 2’ will be released on OTT platform Netflix on October 8. The OTT premiere of the film was awaited for a long time.
The reason was that the Censor Board had imposed 27 cuts on the theatrical release of the film and it was believed that the makers would release its uncut version on OTT. However, this will not happen.
In OMG 2, Akshay Kumar was seen in the role of Lord Shiva’s messenger and Pankaj Tripathi was seen in the role of a devotee of Shiva.
OTT platform not ready to show uncut version
In an interview given to Hindustan Times, the film’s director Amit Rai said that even the OTT platform is not ready to show the uncut version of this film.
Amit said, ‘I don’t know what their apprehensions are. Streaming platforms will also show the version which has been passed by the censor board. Now what else can be done on this? The whole country is shouting and screaming but still the Censor Board is not listening, then no one can do anything.
The Censor Board had cut many important scenes in the theatrical version of the film.
There were many kissing scenes in Rocky and Rani also
Expressing displeasure at CBFC, Amit further said, ‘The board had removed a scene related to condom ad from our film, but when I went to the theater to watch ‘Gadar-2’, a condom ad was being shown before the start of the film. . Can this ad be shown before the film? This is the hypocrisy of the censor board.
I am not against any film, but many kissing scenes were shown in the love story of Rocky and Rani. Is it okay if children see it?
There was a kissing scene of Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi in the love story of the film Rocky Aur Rani.
The film was based on topics like sex education.
This film, which was released in theaters on August 11, gave a tough competition to Sunny Deol starrer ‘Gadar-2’ even after getting ‘A’ certificate.
The story of the film was based on a taboo topic like sex education. The Censor Board had deleted many sex related scenes from it.
