The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) on Saturday released a video where a Hamas gunman can be seen firing “indiscriminately” at portable toilets inside Israel’s Nova music festival that was at the face of a deadly attack a week ago. In the attack by the Palestine-based terror group Hamas, 260 festival goers were gunned down and several others were taken hostage.

The video, which was apparently recorded by a Hamas militant, has gained public attention on social media. In the clip, the Hamas gunmen can be seen firing at the bathrooms in the festival that was held in the fields outside Kibbutz Re’im, located very close to the Gaza border.

Sharing the disturbing video on X (formally Twitter), the IDF said, “WATCH Hamas terrorists indiscriminately shoot at bathrooms during the Nova Music Festival. This just shows you that Hamas does not care who—they just kill.”

The gunman can be seen aiming at every toilet to not miss any chance of killing the people attending the festival. He managed to shoot at every toilet to ensure killing of all those who were trying to hide inside.

The Tribe of Nova festival, held in the semi-wooded fields outside Kibbutz Re’im, just a few miles from Gaza, was one of the first Hamas targets.

For the unversed, the Hamas militants based in the Gaza Strip blasted through the Israeli security fence and streamed into Israel on October 7.

The attack killed more than 1,300 people in Israel, with subsequent Israeli airstrikes killing more than 2,215 people in Gaza in the past week. Israel said that roughly 1,500 Hamas militants were killed inside Israel.

Since the day of attack, Israel has hammered the Gaza Strip with airstrikes as it prepares for a possible ground assault. Israel has also cut off food, fuel and medicine from Gaza’s 2.3 million people, leading aid groups to warn of an impending humanitarian catastrophe.

Israeli communities near the festival also came under attack, with Hamas gunmen kidnapping people — soldiers, civilians, the elderly and young children — and killing scores of others.

Israel and Hamas have had repeated conflicts in past years, often sparked by tensions around a Jerusalem holy site. This time, the context has become potentially more explosive. Both sides talk of shattering with violence a years long Israeli-Palestinian deadlock left by the moribund peace process.
