India Vs New Zealand: Dense fog at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala brought ICC World Cup 2023 match between hosts and Kiwis to a brief halt sparking memes on Internet.

ICC World Cup 2023 clash between hosts India and New Zealand came to an abrupt halt due to dense fog and low visibility at a packed Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala on Sunday. The two nations have so far won 4 on 4 contests in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023 and will be eyeing a 5th consecutive victory. Notably, India have not defeated the Black Caps since 2023 in a World Cup contest. India crashed out of the 2019 World Cup to New Zealand in the semi-finals, the visuals of which still haunt the desi fans till date. Dhoni fell short of the crease owing to Martin Guptill’s bullseye throw at the stumps. New Zealand eventually lost the tournament to England in a blockbuster finale.

Earlier, Mohammed Shami claimed a five-wicket haul to bundle out New Zealand for 273 in 50 overs. Shami made a statement with a fifer on his first game of the tournament. Meanwhile, Daryl Mitchell scored 130 and helped New Zealand get past 270. Rachin Ravindra and Daryl Mitchell put the New Zealand innings back on track with their half-centuries. Earlier, Mohammad Shami got the wicket on the first ball of his match and castled Will Young for 17. Mohammed Siraj drew the first blood with the ball as he got the better of Devon Conway for a duck in the fourth over of the innings to put pressure on New Zealand.
