Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has started an online application for recruitment to the positions of Technical Assistants and Laboratory Attendants at the National Institute of Epidemiology (NIE), Chennai. Through this recruitment drive, the council aims to fill 33 seats of Group B Technical Assistant and 14 Group C Laboratory posts. Interested candidates can apply through the official website of ICMR – https://nie.gov.in/. The last date to register for these posts is November 8 till 5:30 pm.
The Technical Assistant vacancy includes 6 posts for Biostatistics, 5 posts each in the field of programming, Laboratory, Public Health, and Field Activities. Two posts are for the Electrical Engineering and Social Science categories. Among the 33 Group B Technical Assistant posts, one seat is vacant in Research Management, Communication, and Networking. In terms of Laboratory Attendant, posts are required to be filled in for works like plumbing. Candidates must read the information brochure to know more about the vacancies.
ICMR Recruitment 2023: Steps To Apply
Step 1: Visit the official website of ICMR–https://nie.gov.in/
Step 2: On the homepage, register yourself through your basic contact information
Step 3: Access the application form with your registered ID and password
Step 4: Fill out the registration form by entering the required information
Step 5: Upload the necessary documents
Step 6: Pay the required application fee
Step 7: Submit and download the application form
The application fee for the General category candidates is Rs 300. The women, SC, ST PwBD and Ex-Servicemen candidates are exempted from paying the application fee. ICMR employees can also apply for this recruitment drive. The maximum age required for the Technical assistant should be 30 years; whereas for the Lab Assistant, the maximum age is 25 years. The minimum age for the same is 18 years.
The selection of the candidates will be done based on the online written examination. The duration of the test will be 90 minutes and will consist of 100 multiple-choice objective questions. Each question will carry one mark and 0.25 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. The final merit of the candidates will be prepared based on the total marks obtained and the scrutiny of applications. The exam is expected to be held in the fourth week of November, while the admit card will be released a week before it.
