Tech billionaire Elon Musk never refrains from making positive remarks about the future of Artificial Intelligence (AI). His company xAI has recently developed an AI bot named Grok, which is quite similar to OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Bard AI. It has the ability to access and interpret real-time knowledge through microblogging platform X (formerly known as Twitter). Despite launching it as a general AI model, Musk has claimed that Grok is more capable of tackling “spicy” questions than other AI bots available on the internet.

Recently, an X user named Kris Kashtanova decided to put Grok in a challenging situation. She asked the AI bot to decode a post shared by Musk a few days ago. Grok succeeded in the task and the result page had a long note where the meaning of the message was thoroughly explained. Taking a subtle dig at corporate culture nowadays, Musk wrote, “Big companies steadily increase their Dilbert score over time like entropy.”

Despite being a one-liner, the message no doubt seemed difficult to people, who are not familiar with the terms like “Dilbert” or “entropy”. Kashtanova pasted the entire quote on Grok, seeking an explanation. The AI bot not only described the meaning of each phrase but also gave an idea about the humorous side of the message.

Kashtanova shared a screenshot of the result page. As decoded by Grok, Elon Musk’s post actually meant “large companies become more disorganised and chaotic over time, much like the fictional company depicted in the comic strip ‘Dilbert’, created by Scott Adams.” Kashtanova’s post caught the attention of many X users, with Musk also reacting to it. He reshared the post while dropping a bullseye emoji which means the target has been hit.

Internet users were unquestionably stunned by the ability of Grok AI to decode the witty post of Elon Musk. One user was quick to brand xAI’s invention as the “Elon decoder.”

Joking about Grok’s vocabulary sense, an individual said, “Sometimes I feel like I have to learn English again because of the strange words I read.”

Another user commented, “I googled and it told me the Dilbert comic was taken down because it was highly racist so I interpreted it to mean corruption eventually reigns in large corporations. Thank you for the clarification Kris and Grok.”

The Grok AI chatbox is currently undergoing beta tests and will be available for X users from next week. People will need the X Premium+ subscription to access Grok. Even users having the X Premium base plan are exempted from this service.
